Przemysłowy Instytut Automatyki i Pomiarów PIAP

Sieć Badawcza ŁUKASIEWICZ – Przemysłowy Instytut Automatyki i Pomiarów PIAP is a leading Polish research institute active in the fields of robotics, automation, machine vision and measurements systems. It has vast experience in developing unique solutions in the field of industrial automation, security and defense technologies, information technology, industrial and mobile robotics, as well as measuring devices. Research performed at Ł-PIAP is concentrated on mobile autonomous systems, innovative human machine interfaces, manipulation and manipulator construction, data fusion and image processing.

The aim of Ł-PIAP in the APRIL project is to lead the process of system design: defining HW/SW, data flow, interfaces, and splitting the system into a detailed component list. After that, the main effort is going to be put on integrating all modules into one system by supervising the process of components development and providing a translator in the communication between Knowledge Reasoning Engine (KREM), sensors and actuators. Moreover, Ł-PIAP will provide the robotic arms base for sophisticated end effectors. The abilities of the system are to be proved with six demonstrations at end-users facilities.
