Use Cases
APRIL’s methodologies (framework) and technical prototypes will first be validated in the lab and later in six demonstrative pilots. These will enable real operative industrial environments and conditions.
In the following, find an overview of the six use cases. For more information, follow the link on the cards.
Use Case 1 – Packing
Automate poultry pieces packaging using grip and place functionalities of the novel APRIL robotic system, as well as the classification/sorting of the pieces according to the estimated shelf life.
Use Case 2 – Production step
Improve the handling and the mounting accuracy of electronic components through the interaction between human and collaborative robot. The robot reduces the risk of contamination and guarantees high level of flexibility in automation.
Use Case 3 – Quality assurance
Build a system for the dexterous manipulation of the Portuguese Electronic Passport and other passports specifically for the process of quality control and data validation.
Use Case 4 – Production step
Build a collaborative robot that can handle different soft viscoelastic pillows. The range of pillows produced by PEMU is very wide, and the system must handle them precisely while ensuring the high quality of the product.
Use Case 5 – Production step
Increase the production capacity by means of human-robot collaboration in different production steps.
Improve the capabilities, skills, safety, and health of the workers.
Use Case 6 – Packing
Improve the current manual bagging of shoes insoles by means of an autonomous robotic system that can carry out complex grasping and manipulation tasks.
