OSAI is an Italian SME that operates in the field of automation and system integration for industrial processes. OSAI has more than 10 years of experience in EU-funded projects, and the presence of a dedicated R&D department has the potential to replicate, disseminate and exploit project results to a wide number of people and entities. 

OSAI’s expertise is mainly focused in niche such as medical applications, automotive and high-tech areas, as well as semiconductors. Each OSAI system is created for the customer’s specific applications and features the latest technologies, such as LASER and ULTRA-FAST laser technology. 

In APRIL, OSAI’s experience in EU-funded projects allows it to participate in APRIL’s technical activities and in task management. Furthermore, OSAI employs more than 50 technicians, which will be involved in the use case activities of the project. A dedicated group of R&D employee support the project activities and the proper management of the actions. 

The main role of OSAI in the APRIL project consists in the identification of at least one use case to be tested with the developed technologies. In particular, OSAI will define the industrial requirements and needs concerning the handling of soft and partially soft components. A robotic cell dedicated to APRIL project use case 2 will be available at OSAI headquarters for the project duration. The use case will allow to assess the needs of specific handling tools and to experiment with the introduction of avant-garde technologies in automation lines.
